About
I’m Shaddi. I was born in Knoxville, TN, and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2010. I’m now working on my PhD in computer science at the University of California Berkeley under Prof. Eric Brewer in the TIER group.
Some of the computer science topics I’m interested in are networks and technology for developing regions. I also like backpacking, biking, climbing, bluegrass, and picking up new skills via hobby projects.
For those of who want a definition of myself in terms of jobs and the like, I’ve done reasearch with DiRT at UNC and DILab at UTK; internships at Microsoft, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab, and UNC’s Center for Sustainable Enterprise; and while in high school was a theatre usher at Regal in Knoxville. That last one convinced me, if I had any doubts, of the importance of going to college. The rest make me glad I did.
I share a birthday with Bilbo and Frodo Baggins and World Car-Free Day.
